For Zadi and her family, music has always played an important role in everyday life.

“Music is everything,” her mom Kayle shared. “It’s something that helps build us up, helps us through hard times, and gives us a way to express ourselves.”

From movie soundtracks to classic rock favorites, music fills their home. When it came time to look for piano lessons in Colorado Springs, Kayle wanted more than traditional instruction. She wanted an environment where Zadi could grow, feel encouraged, and discover the joy of making music.

“I love that the teacher can come over, give feedback, and then let students work through it,” she explained. “It gives them a chance to figure things out for themselves. I feel like they can accomplish more this way.”

Like every student, Zadi has experienced challenges along the way. But Kayle says the encouragement she received from teachers and staff made all the difference.

“Everybody got involved and asked, ‘How can we help Zadi? How can we support her?'” Kayle said. “There was so much encouragement. It was always, ‘You’ve got this. You can do this. This is just part of learning.'”

Building Confidence Through Music

One of the biggest changes Kayle has noticed is Zadi’s growing confidence.

Whether she’s performing in recitals, learning new repertoire, or tackling sight-reading exercises, she has discovered that mistakes are simply part of the learning process.

“Her confidence has gone up so much,” Kayle shared. “The recitals don’t even phase her. She just gets up there and says, ‘I’ve got this.'”

For Kayle, those lessons extend far beyond the piano bench.

“One of our family affirmations is, ‘I can do anything I put my mind to,'” she said. “You’re going to fall sometimes, and that’s okay. We still love you. Having another place in her life reinforcing those ideas is really special.”

At 232 Music Studios, one of our goals is to help students understand that progress matters more than perfection. The confidence they build through piano lessons often impacts school, friendships, and other areas of life as well.

Music That Connects Families

Music has also strengthened connections within Zadi’s family.

Her uncle played piano through School of Rock, and now Zadi is learning many of the same songs he once performed.

“She gets so excited,” Kayle shared. “‘I get to play songs like my uncle plays!’ It has really connected our family.”

These moments remind us that music education is about more than learning songs—it’s about creating memories, sharing experiences, and bringing families together.

A Community of Musicians

For Kayle, one of the most meaningful aspects of 232 Music Studios has been the sense of community.

She appreciates that piano lessons here are not simply a weekly private lesson, but an opportunity for students to collaborate, play ensemble music, participate in recitals, and build friendships with other young musicians.

“It’s a community,” she said. “She gets to hang out with other kids her age, laugh with the teacher, play together, and learn together. Piano is often such a solo instrument, but at 232 it feels different.”

That community has become something their family truly values.

“I’ve told multiple people to come to 232,” Kayle shared. “The teachers are amazing. The staff is amazing. The student community is wonderful. There are so many opportunities to learn, grow, and be part of something bigger.”
